The day care centre of Benløse Børnehave
Benløse Børnehave in Ringsted was opened in 2018 and got a new extension in 2019. The institution is a comprehensive solution for children of several ages as well as several special solutions for children with disabilities. The look of the building should therefore also have a fun touch.
Untreated Douglas fir in vertical boards and strips from Frøslev Træ were therefore used to obtain that purpose. The façade has wavy shapes and rounded corners, adding a playful look to the building - arousing the interest of even the most hesitant child. It encourages play and exploration outdoors as well as indoors.
As the wood used for the façade is untreated, it has now patinated into the characteristic, silver-grey shade that allows the building to blend in with the surrounding nature. BBP Arkitekter, Dominia Ingeniører and CC Brun Entreprise A/S are behind the pretty, new day care centre.
Wood and profiles
- Untreated Douglas fir in vertical boards and strips. Patinated.
- NB! Special requirements apply to cladding that is not designed according to the pre-accepted solutions described in the building regulations.
- A certified fire management consultant should assess the application in connection with the design of such cladding.
By nature, wood has unique, sustainable qualities, and wood therefore plays a key role as one of the supporting elements in the construction of the future. Martin L. Petersen, CEO, Frøslev
