Hi:Life is the name of the new, large housing development on Göteborg Allé in Aarhus N. There is much focus on creating the framework for a good community. The large building was completed in 2020 and has more than 200 flats, so there is ample opportunity for the young people in Aarhus to find a nice and fantastic place to live at reasonable prices.

The façades of the flats are clad with a combination of zinc metal sheets and ThermoWood from Frøslev Træ. The wood is used on the façade on the ground floor and in all balcony rooms and terrace rooms, so the residents will meet a warm material on arrival and when spending time in the building. The other zinc façades create a balance with the wood, and the wood will patinate over time into a beautiful interaction with the other zinc parts on the façade.

ThermoWood was used which carries the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and is heat-treated, Nordic pine. ThermoWood is also excellent for terraces as it is very dimensionally stable. The finished product is this huge but well-designed complex that fits perfectly into the ever-evolving Aarhus cityscape.

Aart Architects A/S worked with engineer MOE A/S and contractor NCC to develop this project, and the building owner, Konstruct, now has a new, modern building with flats in the popular Aarhus N.
