ECCO Conference Centre
ECCO’s new conference centre in Tønder was opened in 2013 and has a formidable architecture that reflects the company’s sense of design, innovation, sustainability and energy optimisation. The building is clad with Canadian cedar from Frøslev Træ with band-sawn surfaces. Inside, lacquered olive ash with patterned perforation was used.
The exterior façade of the centre complements the surrounding nature. Thanks to the Canadian cedar, the ECCO conference centre will age gracefully as the wood will patinate into a beautiful, silver-grey shade. The same applies to the cedar on the balcony terraces which have been oiled to preserve the beautiful shade of the wood.
The centre is a large circular house of 5,000 sqm. There are hotel rooms, a showroom, conference and meeting rooms behind the eye-catching wooden façade with its striking evening lighting as well as areas for events, spending time together and pure relaxation.
The architects behind the impressive building are DISSING+WEITLING that worked together with the contractor Kraftman A/S and managed to capture the spirit of ECCO’s values and use them in designing the architectural look of the building.
