Cold Hawaii Inland
Thy Cablepark is part of the Cold Hawaii Inland project - an ambitious project to create a national centre for outdoor activities and water activities. The project was completed in 2021, and residents and visitors to Thisted can now enjoy the brand-new building.
Along with the water sports activities, there is a building with space for equipment, showers and toilet facilities. The entire building has become a beautifully integrated part of the landscape using natural materials. The façade is clad with Frøslev Embla ThermoWood ash resulting in the beautiful, light colour of the wood which will patinate over time into a pretty, silver-grey shade.
ThermoWood is an exciting material to work with. It is heat-treated with no use of toxins and harmful gases, resulting in very good durability.
Spektrum Architects and Norrøn Arkitekter worked together to design this beautiful addition to Synopal Harbour in Thisted.
