Care facility Sønderhaven
In 2012, the new care facility Sønderhaven was ready in Måløv, Ballerup. The large facility houses 76 modern sheltered dwellings for the elderly and for people with disabilities in the area. The Canadian cedar used in the building is from Frøslev Træ and provides the care facility with a homely yet stylish look that benefits residents at the facility and in Måløv.
The idea of the building was to create a green oasis of comfort and security for the elderly, making sure functionality is first-class. The area has turned into its own small community with all necessities within reach for residents as well as employees.
Visitors to Sønderhaven will find a haven where the elderly can live in dignity and fellowship. The building goes well with the surrounding nature to create something very special for the elderly who call Sønderhaven home. The care facility is also a 0-energy building, allowing nature to be prioritised.
The building was designed by Entasis Arkitekter A/S and was developed in collaboration with contractor Einer Kornerup A/S. The building owner behind the project is Ballerup Ejendomsselskab/Ballerup Municipality that worked together to create a very special place for the elderly.
